Building Connections at the 2026 SMU Steel Summit in Atlanta
ICE Construction is excited to be in Atlanta for the 2026 SMU Steel Summit, one of the premier gatherings for the North American steel industry.
With more than 1,500 steel professionals expected to attend, the Summit brings together leaders and decision-makers from steel mills, manufacturers, service centers, equipment suppliers, logistics companies, contractors, and other businesses throughout the steel industry. (CRU Events)
For our team at ICE Construction, events like the SMU Steel Summit are about much more than having a booth. They give us an opportunity to connect with the people who are shaping the future of the steel industry.
Connections That Matter
One of the biggest benefits of the Summit has been the networking. We have had the opportunity to reconnect with customers and industry partners we already work with while also meeting new people and developing relationships that can lead to future opportunities.
In an industry like ours, relationships matter. Having so many manufacturers, steel producers, service centers, equipment companies, and industry leaders together in one place creates conversations that simply don’t happen through emails and phone calls.
Learning Where the Industry Is Going
The information being shared at this year’s Summit is another major benefit. Sessions are covering the issues directly affecting the steel industry, including steel pricing, supply and demand, economic conditions, tariffs and trade, manufacturing trends, construction, technology, and the outlook for the steel market into 2027 and beyond. For ICE Construction, understanding these trends helps us better understand what our customers are facing and where the industry is headed. That knowledge allows us to continue improving how we approach CTL installations, equipment installation and relocation, electrical work, engineering, 3D scanning, fabrication, concrete, and turnkey industrial projects.
A Strong Industry and an Even Stronger Network
The biggest takeaway from the SMU Steel Summit is the strength of the steel community. There is tremendous value in getting customers, suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, and industry experts together to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and look for better ways to move the industry forward.
We appreciate everyone who has stopped by the ICE Construction booth, shared a conversation with our team, or taken the time to learn more about what we do.
Great projects start with great relationships, and the SMU Steel Summit continues to be one of the best places in the steel industry to build them.
We look forward to continuing the conversations started here in Atlanta and putting those relationships and ideas to work on projects across the country.
